Artist Philosophy
The question driving my current work is this: can we as a species overcome the immense challenges that threaten our survival, or will we use our ever-advancing technology to destroy ourselves? The last century of scientific exploration has yielded incredible, perspective-altering insights that leave me exhilarated and terrified; exhilarated by the prospect that one day we might unlock the deepest secrets of the cosmos, and terrified that we will be unable to come together as a planetary society to resolve the issues that threaten our existence. I cannot answer this question nor can I solve these problems, however, I am fascinated by what it means to live in this state of simultaneous exhilaration and terror, hope and despair. I want to bear witness to my experience of this discordant state and in doing so I hope to illuminate the way in which our technological evolution has impacted the world I live in.
