“…integrity of
performance so
singularly wrought
that the work rips your
expectations from
their moorings.”
–
Star Tribune
Vibrating with a unique intensity and
vision, Toni Pierce- Sands and Uri Sands’
TU Dance returns to the Southern for
its annual summer event. This season
the company presents a new concert
featuring two world premieres
by choreographer Uri Sands:
Sense(ability) Sketch 2 continues
a series exploring the vigorous
synergy between the senses and
the elements; Blue Folk (working
title) examines the darker aspects
of family dynamics. Sands’
luscious choreography incorporates
dialects from ballet, West African,
traditional, modern and streetwise
American dance, rendered with
simultaneous distinctiveness
and cohesion by the company’s
sumptuous, razor-sharp execution.
